As a Freshman in a commuter school, one of the goals I had entering college was to find a circle of people that I got along with. FUSION became a place I found myself continuously going to and I loved how the club has shaped the start of my college experience. Some of the best memories I have were from this club, and I couldn't wait to give back by joining E-Board.

FUSION was my first community and family in a time where COVID separated all of us. I always had a strong Filipino community growing up, especially seeing my older peers take on prevalent roles in their respective Filipino club. It definitely influenced me into longing for a similar experience in college. FUSION gave me my best friends and the best memories. I never would’ve thought I would be an E-Board member if it weren’t for this supportive community.

"The opportunity to become FUSION’s secretary came unexpectedly and it’s one of the best things to have happened in my college life. I was born and raised in the Philippines so finding a Filipino community here when I moved was one of my top priorities. Eventually, FUSION became my home away from home. I met my bestest friends through this club and I owe a lot of my growth to FUSION. I sincerely wish the best for the next generations of e-board and members, and I hope they find the same sense of belonging I felt when I first joined this club."

FUSION has always had a special place in my heart ever since the beginning of freshman year and it was amazing to have an opportunity to play a crucial role, as an events coordinator, in the club. I initially joined FUSION because of our dance team, conFUSION, but fell in love with the culture and the people. FUSION is honestly my second home, I’ve met countless amazing people and formed so many close relationships within this club that I’m glad to call them my family. I wish the next generations of FUSION members the best luck and hopefully you can eventually call FUSION your family as well! <3

The start of college for me was really rough, where everything was online and it was seemingly impossible to make friends. However, FUSION was my savior in that sense. Even in an online community, all the members of FUSION welcomed me into the club with open arms and I finally started to feel the college experience. I will be forever grateful to the amazing people I’ve met and forever grateful for this club that allowed me to finally find a second family.
HISTORIAN: IAN GUINTU

Entering college as an extremely introverted Freshman, I vowed to never become involved with any clubs and prioritized achieving my goal of graduating with a degree. Fast forward nearly two years later, I was given the opportunity to become FUSION’s historian. FUSION allowed me to form a plethora of close relationships and create special memories with an inconceivable amount of people that made me feel both comfortable and happy. Essentially, FUSION became my safe haven and the one thing to look forward to everyday. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for FUSION!

Joining FUSION my freshman year was not planned. I am extroverted in the sense that I love hanging out with people and have a high social battery. However, I am extremely shy and find it very difficult to start conversations. FUSION was the club that made me feel so so comfortable. Everyone was so welcoming + outgoing. And being on E-Board allowed me to pass on that favor, where I wanted to continue this club's legacy and create a safe and welcoming environment for others who are struggling to make friends. I hope the best for the future of FUSION and the next members <3
